RONALDO was my IDOL. Today, I'm the friend of my idol. A lot of memories came into my head when i found out that Ronaldo has retired. I was sad, it's a mixture of feelings hard to describe.
I still can't admit it, I don't know how football will be without Ronaldo. He has always been an example as a player.
To play along him was one of the biggest happiness I've ever felt. I'm super happy that i had the chance to play many years with him. We have many nice memories. He was always my idol. Today, I'm the friend of my idol and I'm very proud of that.
He was a complete player. He was the one I've watched to improve my way of playing. He had strengh, skills and intelligence. A speed explosion of thought that nobody else had. For him, everything was very easy. For me he was an example, everybody spoke about his weight problems, but when he entered the field he was unique.
In the last minutes at World Cup (2002), before the final whistle, me and him were on the bench and we hugged each other because we knew we'd be world champions.
Everybody knows my history of injury. I have had in recent years, a string of injuries ranging from one side to another, from one leg to another, from one muscle to another. This pain made me anticipate the end of my career.
